Fan Q&A with Petroglyph about Empire at War
Posted on Thursday, July 14 2005 @ 00:05:53 UTC by JediIgor

News from JediIgor After months of anticipation, Petroglyph's Michael Legg and Joe Bostic finally respond to the interview, revealing a glimpse into both the company's inner works and the game itself.

"PFF QUESTION: Can we use ion cannons and tractor beams to disable enemy ships and therefore allowing us to capture them?

Joe Bostic: Ion Cannons can be used to fire on ships battling in space. This gives a large enhancement to the effectiveness of space combat for the player fortunate enough to have had the foresight to build an Ion Cannon on that planet. We haven't yet settled on having tractor beams. Capturing *SPACE SHIPS* is not possible at this time. "

QUOTE : "Ismael (PFF Admin) : What makes it all worthwhile? Michael (Petroglpyh President) : The support and friendship of the fans, the fan sites, and the Empire at War / LucasArts / Petroglyph community makes all the long hours and hard work worthwhile. They are the ones who truly keep us motivated with their friendly e-mails, kind words, and supportive message posts. We currently don’t have much time to interact in the community, be we are reading what fans are writing and appreciate their enthusiasm." Since I'm also an Admin there and I'm a "SWR Product" as I could call my self, I know that SWR is also activly involved in supporting EAW... So I extend Mike's thanks sayng that the SWR Community is also an active part of the big EAW Community. Thanks again guys for your support.
