Is the Chimera a SDI or SDII? Ive always wondered which it would be and have seen no references for being exactly a mark I or mark II.

This Imperial Star Destoyer was commanded by Captain Gilad Pellaeon. The veterin ship was involved in the battle of Endor and led the remnants of the Imperial fleet to safety after the battle was lost. When Grand Admiral Thrawn returned from the Unknown Regions, he selected Chimeara to serve as his flagship, leaving Pellaeon at its helm.

Exact words of the Guide to the Star Wars universe Dictionary.

I had rememberd Pellaeon had a paragraph talking about his ship in the Dark Force Rising ladder chapters, but was unable to recover and recite it. It was also mentioned as being an aging Imperial I compaired to the Stormhawk and LeftHand its two sister ships fresh from the core dockyards. Both being brand new imperial II's.

The Chimaera is an Impstar I. It was during a time captured bythe Rebels then retaken by the Imps, it is fitted with an cloaking device.

Were cloaking devices used after the Thrawn Era? I don't here them mentioned in the books I have read after that time period.

Oh, ok. Then what about Specter of the past, where Pellaeon tries to use the cloak with that prediction computer ? :P

Dunno, if you played Rebel Assault 2, Antilliles. The Tie Phantom fighters there had cloaking devices as well.
And there was mentioned in one the X-Wing games, that there was a rumor of the Emperor's personal shuttle also having one.

I think XWA claimed the Chimaera being an Impstar Deuce, but it also had the Corruptor being an Impstar Deuce and getting blown apart while it was an VSD-II and was destroyed by Rogue Squadron during the Bacta War, so XWA is no reliable source.

Although it was an Impstar I, since it was one of the first and most prestigious it was updated to the standards of an Impstar Deuce shortly before the battle of Hoth.
I was under the impression that the one in XWA was the COrruptor and the other was teh COrrupter... I may be wrong though.

As i had stated before in an earlyer post in this thread - It was an Imp I, all the way up to when Pelleon joined in service with Admira Dalla's breif return to attack the jedi academy with her Knight Hammer superstar. Pelleon still used the same ship then and it was still an IMP I, after that i cant remember any mentions of it, its highly possible it was redesigned with the next warlords resources that pelleon threw himself in with. All through its service in that book and in Dark force rising- there were narated throughts of pelleon thinking of his oldery style star destroyer as being outdated in most regauards.

Let's make this clear:
The Chimaera is an Impstar I - one of the first ones, and one of the most prestigious, therefore its role at Endor. It was pretty high on the command hierarchy at Endor, although it had no Admiral on board, therefore Pellaeon's orders to retreat were obeyed.
Somewhere during the Emperor's reign many of the ship's systems were updated to more modern Impstar II standards.
It was among the ships that remained loyal to the Empire after Endor.
Then Thrawn came, after Thrawn's death Pellaeon joins Clone Palpatine's Empire. During Operation Shadow Hand at Duro the Chimaera is heavily damaged, Pellaeon escapes, but most of his officers die.
After Palpatine's death Pellaeon joins Teradoc he obtains the 13X.
Then comes the events of Darksaber, and how Pellaeon obtained the Command of all Imperial Forces.
Pellaeon has an SSD the Reaper as flagship, he orders intelligence to recover the Chimaera from Rebel hands, and he obtains a victory against Ackbar after he recovers the ship.
Pellaeon then make a bold move and loses the Reaper and many Imperial ships, he returns to the Chimaera.
The New Rep - Imperial treaty is signed there.
He still uses it in the Dark Tide Duology, in Destiny's Way he has an SSD, and in REmnant he is back on the Chimaera.
